The State Incentive: The California Solar Initiative
The rebates from CSI are at their highest, but as more and more megawatts of solar are installed the funds in the program are being depleted. When the money runs out there are no additional funds available and the CSI program will end.

The Government Incentive: The 30% Federal Tax Credit
This credit reduces the amount of tax you owe. The credit is a reduction of the total income tax at the bottom of your tax return. The substantial tax break is offered to home owners, but it is a time-limited tax incentive.
